Forestry First Aid course is a 2-hour course for those who work on Forestry Commission owned land or those who work in remote locations, such as tree surgeons, farmers, and forestry workers.
Training for people to respond to a range of emergencies in the outdoor environment from snake bites to controlling life threatening bleeding.

What Course Do I Need?
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is suitable for low risk work places such as offices and is of one day in duration, however if you are a high risk workplace, such as construction, forestry, agriculture, glazier your staff may need to undertake the three day First Aid at Work (FAW).
The type of First Aid Course your workplace will need is dependent on your First Aid Needs Risk Assessment

Forestry F + can be delivered at your venue and with the EFAW together is £650 for a group of up to 12 staff.

- Treatment of Adder snake bites

Forestry First Aid +F Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification
We make sure you can respond to an Emergency and are safe by assessing your First Aid knowledge, using multiple choice question papers and practical assessments of your First Aid skills.
This is a Regulated qualification overseen by Ofqual and meets the requirements of the First Aid at Work Regulations 1981.
Forestry First Aid + F Certificate and Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
On completion of the emergency First Aid at Work Training. Successful First Aid at Work 1-day students will be given a regulated (RQF) Emergency First Aid at work certificate and Forestry First Aid +F certificate.

Emergency First Aid at Work Refresher
The Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is valid for Three Years from date of completion. There is currently no Emergency First Aid at Work Refresher course Students will need to retake the course once it has or is nearing expiry.
It is strongly encouraged by the HSE employers allow staff to complete annual Emergency First Aid at Work refresher training every 12 months whilst their EFAW certificate is in date.

Have you thought about blood loss in your workplace?
The HSE recommend where blood loss or uncontrolled bleeding is a possible risk in the workplace, for example working with machinery, specialist training is provided.
Including training the use of catastrophic haemorrhage control devices and blood loss control products.
Catastrophic haemorrhage training can be provided on all Regulated First Aid courses.
Including Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work courses and this will be annotated directly onto the First Aid Certificate.
