Course overview
The Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course (EPFA) is a 1-day course.
If you work in or manage a high-risk setting (such as a nursery with children who have additional medical needs) your staff may need to take the 12-hour Paediatric First Aid (PFA) qualification.
The type of PFA course your workplace will need is dependent on your First Aid Needs Risk Assessment. Follow the link to the HSE’s site for further information.

This course is accredited by an Ofqual Regulated awarding body. Meets requirements of Ofsted and EYFS.
Who is it for?
Suitable for low-risk environments.
This is a regulated qualification that is suitable for those who need first aid training for children. This includes those working in schools, nurseries, early years settings as well as childminders.
It is also suitable for low-risk establishments.

You might want to consider the Need for Annual Training as Part of Your Risk Assessment. The HSE and Ofsted recommend annual refresher training every year for workplace First Aiders.

Outside of School...
Children outside can be exposed to a range of risks, such as animal bites, and Lyme disease or become injured in many ways outdoors.
Our Forestry First Aid course teaches participants how to deal with emergencies in the outdoors and how to manage uncontrolled blood loss.
